| | interesting... this thursday i'm going to be preaching on "the
immutable character of God." it was a request from one of the
core leaders. i don't know what to do. i'm so used to
working through chunks of scripture. we'll see what happens.
on a side note. it's been a battle carving out time at the foot
of the throne. today i realized something. just cause you
don't feel God, doesn't mean he's not with you. every prayer
counts. every thought raised to heaven is noticed. i was
praying at one of the tables outside the student union. that was
a tough time of prayer. i was just lifing up stuff to God, not
really doing a good job of listening to him. at that moment i was
interrupted by a SJSU student, manly (that's his first name), who
doubles up as a worship pastor for his church. this guy leads
some hard core worship. he asked me what i was thinking
about. as we were talking i felt God enter our presence. **argh
... my kids are beating each other up... hold on**
**ok, i'm back**
continuing with the story. i started to share with him that we
need worship. we need to get the christian groups togther at san
jose state and reclaim the campus as a place of God's presence.
as we were brain-storming he's all, "dude, i see the annointing!"
i'm all... umm... ok.
**doh. my wife is here... i have to give her a kiss... brb
actually, i'll finish this tomorrow morning..... good night.
remind me to write about how God told me to sit and wait in a
starbucks. in that meeting i got hooked up with the world's
leading expert in church state issues. he heads up an
international organization that defends the cause of Christ
worldwide. this dood won an 8-1 U.S.
Supreme Court decision upholding the 1988(?) Equal Access Act he put
together with a team of lawyers. I started praying for a
church/state lawyer in June. Praise God... maybe. don't
know yet if he will meet with me ever. we'll see.
